Lynda.com Programming Course Question

I am considering signing up for a Lynda.com account for programming course work, so my question to anyone with experience with the programming courses specifically is--are the project files in a premium account really worth the extra $$$ for the learning experience (beginner here), or would a basic account, sans the files, be sufficient enough?  I have read some reviews that the project files are pretty necessary for certain courses like photography, but was curious if it was equally important for the programming courses.
