The software you're referring too I believe is the ASUS Aurora. This is exclusive to ASUS boards only that have the RGB header for you to plug LED strips into. I would personally recommend the Cablemod Widebream magnetic strips, as long as you have a steel chassis.

Then i get around to putting LED's in my dream build, i'm getting the NZXT hue+ for sure. It comes with the CAM software which allows you to monitor pretty much everything in your system, along with modify the colour, brightness, pattern, etc of your attached LED's . However, the hue+ is somewhat expensive compared to other LED strip options out there.

Check out Cablemod or Bit Fenix or some company like that to see what other options are available. there are all sorts of options for colour, price, length, adjustability, etc for you to make your decision on.

Cheap solution would be an arduino + some RGB strips (WS28XX for programmable ones) + 3 mosfets and some resitors (if you use WS28XX you don't need the electronic parts) + an old phone charger

Unless you have an expensive ASUS ROG Motherboard, then you should get the NZXT Hue+ for software control

Your best bet would be to get an LED kit from cable mods or the like and use the remote control system as software systems will cost much more.

I would have used the powersupply and step down the voltage if necessary (Molex still has it's uses) I'm actually powering an LCD panel I modded onto my case as I type this. It's powered off of one of the molex connectors on my power supply.

My procrastination is the bane of my existence.

I make games and stuff in my spare time.
