Why not get a 1060? The 970 is pretty old buy this point. For a decent power supply look around here:

don't think so?

The 970 has 4GB of connected memory. 4GB is higher than 3.5GB.

not to the crossbar

The memory controller is still enabled and connected. You can see it. It's just not connected to the crossbar directly because of the disabled cache.

which is enough reason to not choose a 970 over the new offerings from AMD and Nvidia.

Your point was that it's not there and not connected. It is there, and it is connected. It has 4GB of VRAM.

How about this one: MSI GeForce GTX1060 6GB??

thats a good option, also consider an AMD RX480 8gb or 470 4gb if you need to save some money.

it might as well not be, not sure why we need to be so technical, the 970 has 3.5gb of full bandwidth GDDR5.

why 6600k? are you going to oc? which fan for cooling cpu? why 16gb ram? storage? and yeah, 1060 is more recommended than 970

Looks good, how much does it cost compared to the 970, RX 470 and the RX 480.

Most games don't make use it and you can upgrade it very easily down the line. Unless you want to get 32GB in the future can't find a reason why.

so 12 gb should do the job??

8GB, upgrade later. Unless you want to get up to 32GB or make use the 16GBs of ram in something like editing or opening a crazy amount of tabs.

In this case depends on you. The 970 will get you the best performance per euro, but on the other hand it won't last as long as Nvidia prioritises supporting newer cards in driver updates.
