Hello Forum,

so I have windows 10 installed, apart from it being 4 clicks instead of 2 click to start up anything, I have a 60gb ssd that I only use for the os, it has become totally full even though I have installed almost everything on a separate drive.

so I'm would like to know how much room you are finding you window 10 install to be please?

have I messed up or is really going to take that much room just to run the os?

going to have to reinstall the os now, brb.

thank you in advance.

Normally it takes I think 200gb, but I got a 450gb ssd just to be sure, but it is defiantly more than 60gb.

60GB is enough.

And why is it 4 clicks? For me it is only two, start menu then program.

Or I can use rainmeter on my desktop to open any program with one click...

I've installed it on a 32GB drive with plenty of space left, but it doesn't have other programs installed. System isn't set up so I can't check easily right now.

Before reinstall, I would have tried some disk cleanup tools first. Start with the Windows built in one, and there is an option to clean redundant update files too. I just ran it on my main system, and that is offering to clean 1.2GB for me, most of which are memory dump files likely created from failed overclock attempts previously. If you did the major update recently, you might still have the whole old install as a backup on the hard disk, which will be eventually cleaned up anyway.

Then you can also try 3rd party tools, like ccleaner, but be more careful as to what you actually want to clean.

Use WinDirStat to find what's taking space. My Windows folder is only around 15 GB's.

I think I know why it taken all the space. I tried to do some mining and opened a wallet, seems they download a load of hidden files and fill up your pc with junk.

don't mine might be the answer, ill wait and see what happens after this fresh install.

yer, everything is lagging in windows 10 on my machine, click Cortana and it will take another few to get a cursor up. everything is lagging.
