Hey there brubru1998 :)

The server should suffice for simple torrent sharing. Any specifics around that like the OS, the torrenting application, types of files to be shared and number of clients?

Are you doing this over the internet or locally?

What is the HDD's brand and model? Since it will be on 24/7 and will be streaming data I would suggest a few things:

- make sure you are using a drive that is rated for 24/7 usage so you have a longer lifespan and less problems with it.

- ensure you have backups of the data so you don't face data loss in case something happens with the drive or with the system since this is a second-hand build .

- checking the health of the storage drive is a good idea so you are well aware of the condition of the drive. Running diagnostic tools from the manufacturer and checking the raw values of the S.M.A.R.T. status is a good way of doing this.

- consider having some level of redundancy in the build for the sake of data safety. Adding another drive and placing both in RAID1 is a good way of achieving this.

Let me know if you have any questions!
