Thinking about R9 270X... Will it bottleneck?

cnelson3225

So I have the system in the sig and I want to get into gaming. I want to game 1080p at decent frame rates (30 or above) and my goal is to blow Xbox 360 away in terms of quality. Basically I want to get GTA V for PC when it comes out and I don't want to get it on Xbox ;)

Will this card be a good fit? Do you have any other suggestions? Is the rest of my system up for it? Am I crazy in thinking the PC version will look better?

Thanks guys.

I meant by anything else in the system lol

I'm not the best with high end hardware... I usually get what I get and make it work.

No it won't, but get a 7950 for the extra RAM

Interesting option... That may be stretching the budget a bit though.

GTA is about 6 months away

buying something now for later is a wrong move

in 6 months prices will go down

and new GPUs will arrive

I can run GTA IV on 3 screens with texture and shader mods with 2GB at around 30FPS...

2GB is more than enough for 1080p gaming at the least.

Depends on what you're doing :P

Highly Modded Skyrim & BF4 Beta exceeds 2GB vram even on 1080p so an extensively modded GTA might be pretty demanding on textures

Your good to go, I would really recommend overclocking your i7 920 though, the 212 EVO will allow you to take it to at least 3.4Ghz.

i think that can be done without changing the voltage. it can go higher

Yea, it can probably go higher... Its the cruddy mobo that worries me.

Honestly stock is already sooooo much more power than i'm used to. I think I 'll stick with stock. :)
