So i bought a gtx1070 because my gtx660 died, but what happend to it is that one of it's memory chip died so if i use it i would get tone of lines on the screen but i would get the same amount of fps in games. and so my question is, can i use it then as a physx card because it doesn't need to use the memory(frame buffer) because it won't be outputting frames or doesn't it work like that.

There are plenty of games that don't really support the full gamut of Physx features if the Physx is done on a second card, and the 1070 is plenty for physx and rendering if you're running at 1080p. I wouldn't bother.

i wasn't asking if it is worth it i'm just asking if i can.

Data corruption will still be a problem regardless of use case.

I don't think you will get blue lines because its not an image being stored to the memory. Its simply positional data so a) things go extremely wonky in game physics wise or b) the game outright crashes because of the garbage positional values.

The RAM chips on the GPU do a lot more than just store an image. You should really just throw that card away and be done with it.

It might still work, but it will give you decreased performance then with just the 1070 by enabling physx because it is such a low end card compared to the 1070, and it will not be able to keep up.
