My friend wants to build a PC that can play rust.

So I build computers all the time and my friend wants me to either build him a PC that can play rust or find a pre built PC for that. Right now he's running rust on his laptop with a bad Intel Celeron duel core and he wants a desktop. He just wants the build to run rust at a playable framerate, he doesn't care about quality settings. He can't go over $500 with the prebuilt and $300 with the custom built.

$500 is a pretty good budget. you can use a core i5 6400 with that budget

And with what gpu? Just checking prices here, everything with the cheapest parts next to a 6400 is coming around to 450-480.. So unless you can get a decent GPU for 20$ then your friend might be out of luck.
