If my CPU only supports DDR 2 1066 mhz RAM can I put in DDR 2 667MHz

I want to upgrade my old wooden pc in a couple of months and just learnt that the AMD Athlon 2 X4 640 only supports DDR2 RAM upto 1066 mhz .Can I put a pair of 667 MHz 4GB ram to my wooden pc?Does it support my cpu?
