What idiot told you South Korea doesn't develop nuclear weapons? Samsung in fact does, just like it builds warships.

And n, he was there during the 2nd year of the Berlin Wall, so your story doesn't add up.

Just like Japan officially doesn't have nuclear weapon.

People will pay more for the label "made in West Germany". It was the mark of craftsmanship, great engineering and quality. Why would companies label their products to sell less?

BTW calling it "South Korea" is a purely western tradition...

It is locally "Korea" and officially just "Republic of Korea". Just as North Korea calls itself the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Calling South Korea just Korea is literally less incorrect than calling it South Korea.

Start to think you have a point.

Oh please, marketing back then was purely local, and it's not like the rest of Europe could afford to buy luxury items at that point after the destruction from WWII. German engineers were German no matter which side of the wall they got stuck on.

You are assuming from 1949 to the fall of Berlin wall, there was zero change? Even in the 60s to 80s when W. Germany and Europe had recovered?

When GDR was established, most big companies in the eastern part became state-controlled. Innovation and quality went down the drain.

One thing for sure, people would pay extra for the label "Made in West Germany".

Back in Cold War days items said made in W. Germany. I stil have some liquor labeled as such still. :)

Collusion seems quite common anywhere besides sports in player salary related matters.  I once had a company proudly tell us they shared salary information with several other companies and would only be paying us at the 50th percentile as provided by the data.

Apparently it had something to due with the term south korea vs just calling south korea korea, since they don't call themselves south korea I see no issue with it.

Also seeing this is already derailed

Samsung and Hynix owns the DRAM market by a large margin. The DRAM market is known to be tightly "controlled" by the Korean market. There has been instances in the past where Samsung undercut everyone in the market to keep control. Sure, it's good for the consumers when Samsung drags the prices down, but I doubt this was some "dumb" mistake. If it was a fk up, it wouldn't just be rumors coming out. This just seems like an adjustment of DRAM prices for the market. Just look at who wins.. a rumor suddenly raised the entire DRAM market by 10%.. a market where Korean companies own 70%+ of the entire global market.
