Finalizing 1500 USD Build for Gaming and streaming

Artisyn

1. I'm looking to spend around 1500 USD however I am willing to spend more to get better price to performance for my build. I am located in the United States, and plan to buy most stuff on Newegg. I'm looking to do an RGB build since my room is going to be covered in RGB lighting.

2. I'm looking to do gaming and streaming with this build. I'm also asking for monitor advice in the displays forum.

3. I plan on running two monitors however one is an old 1900x1200 23 in monitor mainly to use for text, and reading chat while streaming. The other monitor will either be a 1440p 27 in 144hz or a 24 in 1080 at 180hz.

4. No peripherals needed.

5. I am upgrading because I haven't had a gaming pc for like 8 years. I was in eighth grade and I remember building a pc with a 9600 gt graphics card, Its been awhile.

This is the rig I am thinking about building.

For gaming and streaming simultaneously, I would recommend a 5820K as it has 2 more cores.... So you can run more stuff at the same time....

Thanks for the reply! Do you think instead of the 5820k I should upgrade to the 6800k?

Sorry for replying so late....

No, the 6800K isn't worth $50 more than the 5820K... Use these $50 on another part of your build...

In addition, you need a motherboard that supports Broadwell-E out-of-the-box, these start from $300... The X99 Extreme4 doesn't support the 6800K out-of-the-box and you need a BIOS update.... And, in order to flash the BIOS update you need a Haswell-E CPU or you have to send the board to AsRock to flash the BIOS for you...

Oh, and btw, if you overclock both, the performance is pretty much equal...

Here is a newer version of the build I suggested :

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/YyWQD8

I changed out the power supply for a higher quality one and swapped out the 1TB hard drive for a 2TB one...(I changed out the RAM as well because the one used previously is not available atm)

If that's a bit overbudget, you can use the 1TB hard drive from the previous list and use the Enthoo Pro instead of the H440 and save some money in this way...

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

PSU is overkill, get a quality 550W or maybe a 650 if you have interest in SLI in the future and want a buffer.

PSUs are one of the most boring things to overspend on.

Extra headroom never hurts... With a 750W PSU he can buy a second 1070 and upgrade to a 5960X/6950X, overclock them and still have watts to spare....

May I remind you that X99 CPUs can pull double their rated wattage when overclocked....

You can run SLI 1080s on a 650W comfortably and 1070s use less power, if OP plans to overclock heavily and go SLI then maybe I can see why you would go 750 to be safe.

I did some research and found that the cheapest Motherboard that supports Broadwell-E out-of-the-box is the X99 Taichi, which costs $230...  But the CPU price difference is unjustifiable, given the little gains there are going for a 6800K instead of a 5820K...
