Hey guys!

I have a small budget of about $1000 (give or take a few), and I think I have all the components I need and are compatible without any bottle-necking. I would just like to make sure that everything is compatible and also the rite choice.

Without further ado, here are my components:

Case:  Corsair Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition - Mid Tower (Link - Amazon)

Motherboard: Gigabyte LGA1151 Z170 ATX (Link - Amazon)

CPU: Intel Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz LGA 1151 w/ Fan (Link - Amazon)
GPU: MSI RP 390 8G (Link - Amazon)
PSU: Sentey 725w ATX PSU (Link  - Amazon)

RAM: HyperX Fury Black 2x8GB DDR4 (Link - Amazon)

DVD: Asus DVD-RW - Very basic, meant for playing DVDs - (Link - Amazon)

HDD: WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM 3.5 Inch HDD (Link - Amazon)

Adapters: TP-Link wireless PCI adapter (Link - Amazon)

Fans: Arctic F12 120mm silent 3-Pin fan - Case came with two, adding an extra for overclock - (Link - Amazon)

Later Down the Line: HTC Vive

Once again, I would just like a second pair of eyes who would tell me if everything is compatible and the right choice from some AAA games such as X-COM, GTA V, Battlefield 4, Minesweeper, and more!

Also, could this run the HTC Vive smoothly? I am planning on getting that in the next few months.

It is not a good PSU.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Personally I'd sacrifice 8GB RAM for a small SSD. Everything else looks pretty good though. (Unless you can get one of the newer cards like GTX 1080 for less money than your card)

I edit my posts a lot.

But would 8 GB be enough for the VIVE? Or would I have to add on later?

Any suggestions?

For $1000 I would swap out literally everything in your system. Want me to make a new parts list for ya?

Change the PSU

Get 4 pin fan not 3 pin ones

Can run network cable, then remove wifi card

Nothing against Gigabyte, get a Asus board.

I live in a two story house and we have no network adapters. So, I am stuck with WiFi

I have never had a community that was both highly Tech based, and involved. Usually you have to find a random tech site and wait 2 days for a response like "Dont get that motherboard". Here, you guys respond in minutes and really help me out. Thanks <3

Should do nicely.

EDIT: Note that this case does not support an optical drive. Can you get a USB one? Also, can you use Powerline instead of wireless?

Should do nicely.

Thanks a lot. Although, is it possible to change the processor to an I7, costing a bit more, but allowing easy rendering for video making later on, or will the I5 do the job?

For Adobe Premier you may want an i7, yes, although your budget kind of screws with that. Can you maybe get like a used 4790k or some other Haswell i7 to save money?

This budget was based off of what I would be getting from selling all my old X-Box 360 and games since I never played it and I am more of a PC person. So, I still have money in my bank account to cover a few hundred more.
