but what make them more expensive? Is that really worth it?

Worth is subjective.

If you've got the money to spend, and regular fans aren't doing what you want them to do, then they would be.

Are you going to get $20 worth of performance benefit over the $10 fans? Of course not.

It can be worth it depending on the features. The fans I'd bought are nearly completely silent, which is worth it when they're for somebody who has issues with migraines.

There are lots of things that will affect the price. Materials, features, manufacturing techniques, brands...

Sometimes it's just throwing money away, other times you're getting a quality product that does exactly what you want.

hi

my friend recently bought some 120mm fans. The price he pay for is 30 CAD each. I just do not get why a fan can be that expensive. I check newegg, four 120mm fan for coolermaster are just 12 USD

Firstly, the C, anadian dollar is weaker than the Ameican dollar. Secondly, those fans are probably higher quality, like Noctua.

For some super silent SP fans, I would pay even more than that.

Why? Because silence is my top priority :P
