MX Speed vs MX Red

MX Silent vs MX Red

MX Speed vs MX Speed with o-rings

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a video comparing Cherry MX Silent Switches to the new Cherry MX Speed Switches.

I currently have the Logitech G710+ w/ Cherry MX Brown Switches, but have always wanted to switch to Cherry MX Red Switches.

I hear that Cherry MX Silent Switches are like Reds, but quieter! Sign me up!!!

The keyboard I want, Corsair doesn't make. I want a K70 w/ Cherry MX Silent Switches!

So what are my options? Corsair K70 w/ Cherry MX Speeds/Reds or get the Corsair Strafe w/ Silent Switches.

I can't find any videos out there comparing Cherry MX Speeds against the Cherry MX Silents. HELP!

--------------------------------------

I'm only interested in getting a Corsair Keyboard, so don't recommend anything else to me. I AM NOT INTERESTED.

Also, what do you guys think about a K70 w/ Cherry MX Silent Switches, doesn't that sound amazing!

Just out of curiosity what makes you want to switch from browns to reds? I have been testing a few different keyboards with reds, browns, and blues in stores here over the last few days before ordering several devices and I can't really feel much difference between browns and reds. If I press very carefully and slowly I can feel the slight bump with the browns but in normal use, my WASD TKL with browns feels very much like reds...

Reds are Linear Switches, which means there's no "bump" or "Click" while pressing them. Making double tapping easier cause it's smooth press all the way through.

Browns are pretty quiet and not too heavy to press, but they have a "bump" while pressing them.

Right, I understand that. As I said though I just don't really feel a huge different between browns and reds myself, hence the question. Maybe your fingers are more sensitive I guess.

I have 2 keyboards with Cherry switches, a WASD with browns, and a CM with blues. Those feel worlds different, but when I tested a Corsair in the store with reds, it didn't feel all that different from my WASD with browns.

I tried the MX silent reds on the strafe rgb and they were HORRIBLE. More mushy than most membrane keyboards I have used. You have been warned...

Sounds like I should just get the Speed Switches and add some O-Rings.

According to hardware canucks the cherry mx speed is much louder than reds and silent being much more silent than reds. Your Idea with o-rings dosen't sound like a bad idea, that would prevent the bottom the keypress down, Making them much more silent i suppose.
