Quantum Break Officially coming to Steam

Quick update on the Windows store version. Story from DSOGaming.com:

Yesterday, we informed you about Quantum Break coming to Steam. This Steam version will be a Win32 application and will support both DX11 and DX12. Naturally, we wondered whether Remedy would add support for DX11 in Quantum Break’s Win10 version (that is currently sold via Windows Store). And according to Remedy’s Head of Communications, Thomas Puha, that seems unlikely.

Thats a shame for those who already own the windows store version, Especially with talk of performance improvements possible on DirectX 11?......

It appears that Remedy will focus on the Win32 version of Quantum Break (instead of the already released UWP version). Still, it’s kind of sad that there won’t be support for DX11 in the Win10 version.

What’s also interesting here is that Remedy has been working on this Win32 version of Quantum Break for a while. Not only that, but Quantum Break may, actually, run better under DX11.

Clearly it became apparent very early that Windows store excluvity wasn't going to work out well. It will also be interesting to see performance comparisons.

If there is an improvement with dx11, it would probably be because the win32 version is better than the uwp one ;)

Meaning dx11 on the uwp version would be even worse than the dx12 one.

I think the reason the game is cheaper on steam would be you cant play it on Xbox one if its not a UWP. I would find that hilarious considering that we would have an option to just pick up one version for cheaper while X1 players had to purchase both copies at full price with the possibility worse optimization if that rumor is also true. See people this is what happens when we vote with our wallets, Micro$hit isn't even breaking even so their caving in to our demands. Keep this up boys and our demands for a better PC environment will be met.
