Question: Will future RAM upgrade be a problem?:)

Hi! 
Quick question (cuz i knows this forum rocks;)

I´m putting this memory kit (CMD16GX4M2B3200C16 Corsair dominator plats DDR4 3200 2x8Gb)
into this motherboard (ASUS Z170 Deluxe).

Will i see ANY performance loss or slightest instabillity issues if i decide to upgrade in the future and ad another set of identical memory kit thus getting 4x8Gb?
Yes i will OC modestly but not the RAM.

The build:
6700k
HXi1000
Custom watercooling loop
EVGA GTX 1080
M.2 950 Pro 512Gb

no with the exception that you may need to slow down your ram a little

No, shouldn't be a problem.

BTW, I suggest getting a cheaper PSU. 1000W is WAY overkill for a 6700k + 1080. Get an EVGA G2 650 or something.

I got 4 kits of 16gb for really cheap on Prime day and when people say slow down it isn't much. Mine is running at 3000mhz when they say 3200mhz. The timings are still the same as it is rated for but loosing 200mhz you will not notice. Though Trident-Z makes some of the fastest RAM on the market but Prime day had such a good deal. But again the Trident-Z will probably slow down in large capacity

Getting matching ram makes little to no difference anymore. If you get the same kit to upgrade you will have absolutely ZERO problems. If you get a different kit, it will all work as well but the ram will run at the speed of the slowest kit.

 

That being said, the workloads that actually benefit from faster ram are very uncommon and 99% of the time, having faster ram makes no difference to how your computer performs (one big exception is if you are using on-board video instead of a separate GPU)

When in doubt, re-format.

1080s can't do quad (or even triple) SLI. As said, no point in 1000w, that's way too overkill.
