Posted August 9, 2016 I just installed a 1tbh SSD into my computer swapping it out for the old 1tb hard drive and the forum already helped me out formatiting it and getting it running but now when I try to put steam games on the drive it reads "this drive is read only" how would I be able to fix that? Posted August 9, 2016 If you right click on the drive and go to properties then security does it have a checkmark on read and write? What's the brand and the model of the drive? Have you tried moving other data to it? Are you getting the same error or is it only that specific gaming platform that produces the error? As @benga suggested, check the permissions of that drive. Also, a good thing would be to check the drive's heath and make sure it is fully healthy. You can do that with the manufacturer's diagnostic tool. Captain_WD.
