A $150 380X is a pretty good deal until the RX 470's price goes domn to that.

But the RX 480 is better price/performance if you can pick it up for $200 (not so much if it's $240)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Yea I knew it was a good deal which is why I asked, wasn't sure. By its also newer so will have more support for stuff and if I get a better headset for some reason than Rx will be best.

Which one should I get and which vram variant? I have a 2560 x 1080 ultra wide and I would like one that would last as long as possible, I also am leaning a bit towards 480 cause you can do crossfire. And how much bottleneck would I get on my a10 7870k?

either card will do, but the 8gb on the 480 sounds a bit more appealing.

Say if I got a 4gb card now and decided to get a second and got it in 8gb variant (assuming not on dx12 yet) would I have 8gb of total vram or just 4?

480 8g

because 1060 doesn't support sli.  even though sli is pretty useless for a lot of things, simply removing the option is enough to make me not want it or recommend it.
the 1060 will provide around 10 FPS more in most situations.  Vulkan API Doom is currently the biggest exception to that.  480 runs away from 1060 in vulkan.  Youtube 1060 vs 480.  You'll see many comparisons and it will allow you to make your own mind up about what card is best for you.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

Both would bottleneck, but not horribly. Personally would go for the 480, but depends on whether your ultrawide has Freesync or Gsync.
