My Laptop Came with a 500 gb Hard drive with the Os and everything. I have been using my laptop fairly often , lets say 12 hours a day recently (probably more ) because i am on break from college ofc, However i wanted to back up my Os on a hard drive and i noticed some severe lack in transfer speeds . i didnt think much of it first but using HD tune 2.55 i saw that almost 70% of my drive is transferring at speeds around 1.5 mb/s. Should i be worried about my Drive Failing , cause linus said decrease in performance usually means that the drive is going to die, And if it is going to die, can i just copy over my OS files to another drive and swap it out or, do i need cloning software? , and if i do which is the most recommended

Use CrystalDiskInfo to check to see if the hard drive is going to potentially fail.

Definitely do this as you said this is your primary drive and has a lot of your information on it.
