Hello everybody, I hope this post is in the correct section.

My desk has quite sharp edges, meaning that when I game or use my PC, my forearms will be resting on the sharp edge. This can become quite painful when using for long periods of time as it only takes 10 mins or so to imprint into my skin which makes me sore.

My question is, does anyone know of a product that is used to stick on corners or edges of desks/tables to protect them or similar, so that I can use it to protect my arms! Does something like this even exist? I've had a search on Amazon and can only find products for corners of tables, not edges.

I really want to avoid a makeshift DIY solution like tape that will look bad as I am really happy with how my brand new set up looks, but if this is the only option I guess I will have to compromise!

If the desk is made of solid wood you can round over the edge and refinish it, but other than that there are foam based wrists rests you can get:

I had the same issue and funny enough i just sticked some tape on it and it's much better now.

No idea why it works so well for me but somehow it does.

Doesn't look great but i don't mind.

What is the desk surface made of? If made of wood, or another sandable material, you could always sand it down and refinish it as @W-L has suggested.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Think I'm going to go with the mouse mat option as I was planning on getting a large one anyway, and it's only a temporary fix that I can move if I need to or when I'm not using it without damaging the desk. Thanks again!

Get a large mouse mat and let it flop over the edge of the desk when in use. It works well.

If it's large enough, you can have it wrap around under the desk so its more of a wrap rather than an overhang. Staple it to the underside and have it tight against the desk edge all the way up and under your keyboard.
