What time of the year do motherboard manufacturers typically introduce new motherboard models?

When new cpu's are launched.

I'm expecting the next big wave to launch with zen which should be at Q4 2016/Q1 2017.

 

Don't know when intel releases some new cpu's tho. And afaik they wouldn't be much special because the new cpu's will probably be based on existing sockets sooo yea...

Kaby will be compatible with Z170 (and possibly H110/H170 and B150 as well), but Intel is going to launch a new 200 series chipset for it regardless.
