I will say his review was not very good in comparison to his GTX 770 and GTX 760 reviews. I was hoping for a more complete review, this one felt too rushed. I like Austin too, but his voice gets real annoying, especially when he says " Hey guuuys"   :blink:

He has good content. His videos are well thought out and organized. I learned how to build a computer from him.

im not on the forums to argue, just to say what i think and be nice and helpful

 

hes not physically grabbing money off of you, and this is a brand new line of cards, i cant understand why you'd want to do one video for the whole series of new cards

 

besides, the 290/x arent officially announced spec-wise, so there will definitely be at least one unbox vid, one benchmark vid

 

the unbox vid is quicker to make and will mean that if linus gets it out asap, anyone typing 290x unboxing will go to his vid, see the unboxing and then will sub and wait for the benchmarks 

 

if you wanted to support linus, then the best you can do is spread the love!

Austin compared current and the new cards. His remarks about there being a 0% increase in performance of the R9-280X made me consider buying a 7970 while they are still cheap.

Did you not see the benchmarks at the end of the video?  Linus (well Slick) did the same thing with multiple games at the end of the video.

oh, and regarding the video, uhmmmm, by now I'm used to seeing his reviews. I like some, some I don't bother watching the whole video. I don't like him nor I dislike him but I understand what or why he is doing his thing.

I hope you keep in mind that he said the same thing about the technology used because not everyone will watch all 3 videos about the new AMD cards most likely will only watch one since they will be looking for that given one and you can't really say anything else about the same thing.

The answer is easy. If you google for a certain card you will get that video with want info you want on that specific card that you searched for. Inversely you could argue that you were looking for info on the R7 cards but had to sit through all the R9 bullshit. I just want more videos.

Did anyone else notice Austin Evans uploaded a video with all three AMD GPUs while Linus uploaded a video for each videocard? I know he has to make money but seriously. After about 2 minutes of information he just talked about Mantle and said basically the same things.

Just saying, I watched them all from start to end to support Linus. I want him to succeed, but I don't know if that was the best way to present the GPUs

Please dont compare Austin Evans to Linus Sebastian, they are leagues apart. Maybe one day Austin will be at that level but as for now, Linus is easily the best tech host and i prefer individual gpu videos anyway.
