Reinstall windows, does my CPU need drivers?

Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

No

Only the integrated GPU if you plan on using it.

Hi guys, sorry if this is the wrong sub.

I am wiping my SSD and reinstalling Windows, I own an i5 4690k and I was wondering if I need any drivers for it.

Thanks a lot!

Don't be so sure of that. You may find yourself using it if the dGPU dies and you still need to use the system until the new card comes in.

True, I will download them just in case.

Yea.  You can actually use the Intel QuickSync to accelerate some programs like for example recording with OBS.

I use it to run my second monitor that has only VGA.
