Best Buy return policy?

Was just wondering if I could return a $30 dollar printer cable (that my mom needed urgently) even if the box is opened and a little bit jacked up. (Yes it is within the 15 return period- Best buy policy doesn't mention anything about returning and already opened item..which is why im asking)

For future reference, when you go to bestbuy bring your smartphone and pull up the prices of various items like cables.

 

Bring them a cheaper price from Newegg or Amazon to the CS counter and tell them to match the price.

i always buy things from best buy to test them out and get my hands on it...keep it a a week or so then return it just to order it from amazon at a cheaper price.

dont pay taxes with amazon...if its a 50 dollar item ok no big deal, keep the best buy one...if its a few hundred bucks why pay more with taxes right?

Wooh as a best answer I should have added some more detail such as software is games, movies, or computer programs.

 

Since you are in the USA Monoprice is your best answer if you can wait on the shipping. Being Canadian I have to pay duty and tax and isn't worth the 1$ saving for a week long wait.

 

But like @OneGun said they match prices online also now I forgot about that. They are competing with amazon. So if it's the same cable (don't know how strict they are to the same, heard pretty lenient since Amazon started to destroy there business) you can get a price match.

 

 

As a side note and unrelevant, I buy 90% of my shit (tools as a mechanic, hardware, games, clothes) online but for some reason I would NEVER buy a TV online. I would only buy that in a store. Is anyone else the same.

I only make major buys at brick and mortar stores..Plus i am a My best buy gold member or whatever so i get 60 return on anything i buy cause i spent 4grand there last year..I also got my tv professionally calibrated from geek squad for free for all the money i spent..If they don't have what i want then there's a MicroCenter 8 miles down the road..

I bought a LG 3D tv that I am wanting to get calibrated also. I feel the colour is just off but not to bad but just off. Best buy is over priced but to do it yourself the deice is much more costly so it's not that bad.

Tell you what the difference is amazing..I go watch tcv at other peoples houses and first thing i notice is to much green or blue lol..I have a 55in Samsung 3d tv i bought last year..Now i only wish my monitors were calibrated but i don't really care cause i only game on them.. :lol:

maybe maybe not but amazon also has warehouse deals for returned items, they are cheaper and again...no taxes!

I'm from Canada and I even know CA gets F'd over in paying taxes when buying things online.

Could you imaging how much my laptop would have cost if I paid taxes? Oh wait I did it was $300 in taxes well that's not nice. 

I bought my laptop from xoticpc.com (plug lol)  and they only charge tax if your from CA because of there laws.
