Since we do not have any reviews on this card, we can only speculate especially considering no cards is gonna be sent to reviewers before the release itself which is pretty dumb but anyways. NVIDIA claims it is 30% faster than the 1080 which brings these questions:

1) Will it run a 60FPS stable 4k  (and by stable I mean it never goes below 60 in any game whatsoever)

2) Will it run a stable 144FPS on 1440p

I currently have a ROG STRIX GTX 1070 OC, but I'm not maxing out the 1440p potential (Acer XB271HU) which I could rectify by going SLI with another 1070, but I prefer single cards over SLI if I can even though the new Titan X will be like 1600$ CAD. Is it worth it is the ultimate question?

1) Will it run a 60FPS stable 4k  (and by stable I mean it never goes below 60 in any game whatsoever) - 100% the 1080 pretty much runs at 60 FPS if you turn off AA, which really isn't needed for 4K .

2) Will it run a stable 144FPS on 1440p - Probably not, but this depends on the game.

No.

Especially considering you've already got a 1070. Im running SLI 1080's and that is far more than enough. This Titan XP is far overkill for an average user, even a video editor.

You've already got a far more than capable card. If you're REALLY looking for more, either go SLI, or buy a 1080, or SLI 1080.

We still have no idea what the 1080ti is going to look like, or what's coming for it. If the 1080ti is even coming.

This is my own opinion, I'm not a fan of a Titan in a "gaming" machine. It's an overkill video card, for gaming. SUPER overkill for gaming.

we won't have a definitive answer until it releases and is benched by the tech community. but considering how "irresponsible" it is (as described by nvidia themselves), it may just be the card for 4k at 60fps, but i wouldn't hold my breath. the 1070 you already have is still a very good card

If you feel like paying 70% more than a 1080 for a ~20-30% performance increase is worth it, then go for it. I think it's a great idea.
