sus X99 Deluxe 2 Q code 40?

I had just built my first PC the other week.  Last night There was a thunderstorm and I'm pretty sure lightning hit near the house before I remembered to turn my computer off.  I'm also ashamed to say that I *think* that what I had assumed was a surge protector was just a normal power strip (I'm not 100% sure though).  
Anyway I noticed my mouse and keyboard shut down and turned back on within a few seconds two times today, also the logitech 430g headset doesn't work when I use the USB adaptor it comes with all of a sudden today but the 3.5 jack works so I'm assuming that got fried.  I looked at my motherboard  which is a Asus X99 Deluxe 2 and it's always displaying the code 40 now.  I looked in the manual and didn't see the number 40 under it's Q codes and After a google search I saw different people said the code 40 was different things so I thought I would ask if anyone knows what code 40 is and also if there is anything I should do to make sure nothing is wrong.
