Vectorize image

Hello everyone!

I made a logo for my friend that he will use for some websites etc etc.

 

The problem is, after I made it he told me it needs to be vectorized, so I opened up Illustrator and I've been sitting here for hours now not knowing what to do ... Seriously I've Googled it so many times now but none of the guides I follow can solve the problem for me.

Is there anyone that could help me with this? All I need is for the logo to be vectorized, the background doesn't matter. I really appreciate the help, thank you so much!

Nope I made it in PS, but when I trace it then it get's all messed up :/ But I don't know why :/

Well PS is a pixel editor and Illustrator is a vector editor. You should learn to use Illustrator if you plan to make logos or signs. When you make them huge you don't get that pixel jagged look like in PS.

you cant really "vectorize" an image, because they're two inherently different types of files.

 

that's like turning a bag of potato chips into a bag of fries. they're both potatoes, but you'll need some voodoo magic to interchange the two.

that said, i'm sure there's a clever person or computer algorithm for you that can do an approximation accurate enough to be basicly "good enough for human perception"
