gtx 1060 non reference max oc vs rx 480 non reference max oc?

I want to play gta 5 at very high ultra 60fps and overwatch at 60fps ultra.

I am planning to buy a oculus rift near future.

 

Buying gaming pc on janurary 2017!

1060 is supposedly better in VR so that's a point to consider.

They should be pretty much equal, as the RX 480 thermal throttles when overclocked with its stock cooler, whereas the Gtx 1060 stays below 80C with the reference cooler, even when overclocked!

At which resolution do you want to play @ 60fps?

RX 480 AIB Cards have not been reviewed yet... But we should expect slightly better overclocking out of them... Nevertheless, everything we say about these cards is pure speculation...

Maximum overclock for the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ is about 1400-1430MHz. Unfortunately, it didn't gain any exceptional gains that makes it the better choice over the GTX 1060 for DX11. For those two games, I recommend the GTX 1060.
