Windows 7 Install On New Drive Using Old Computer

Hello!

I am starting a build here very soon for my brother and wanted to get the Windows 10 free upgrade from Windows 7. The build will not be done until well after the July 29th deadline. So we plan on getting his SSD drive to install the OS. But I have only my built and assembled computer to do it on. Am I able to install Windows 7 on the new drive without needing to unplug all of my drives? Or will I have to treat it as a new computer and unplug my two drives in order to install the OS on his drive properly?

Thanks,

Dave

Windows can only be setup in installation with 4 partitions/drives and because you are building a custom computer the only partitions that will be created are the system reserved and your windows drive so you don't have to unplug those other drives.

So I should be able to plug in the drive, plug in the boot drive, then change the boot order to have those two first then install Windows normally?
