Good starting MMORPGs?

So I have been looking for a good MMORPG, and thought this would be a good place to look.

I am looking for one to introduce. Me to the genre, I used to play Dead Frontier, but that's not really a good MMORPG. I don't really want one that monthly, but if its good then a monthly fee is fine. Also, general good MMORPG thread.

I did try, swtor, didn't really like it. I don't really like Star Wars games, I don't know why. Maybe it's the universe. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, I appreciate the help.

Well WoW is probably the easiest to get you used to playing them but Rift is free to play and is in my opinion the best hotbar mmo out at the moment.

Guilds wars 2 for me was a good introduction to mmos. It also has no subscription fee so that's a plus.

Tera is different, but bloody horrible in my opinion. As for MMORPG's WoW still reign supreme and will do until the day they shut it down.

MMO's tend to be a bit of a slippery slope hehe . Once you've got into WoW you never really quit tbh.

I've played WoW and SW:TOR.

 

WoW is good, there is a free trial to check it out. After playing for about 1 hour, I knew it would suck up years of my life; it did.

 

SW:TOR has good stories and is free to play.

+1 for LotRO, but you have to pay 40$ to unlock past level 30 (unless you want to grind for more content)

Neverwinter is a pretty good free one.
