TN Panel vs. IPS Panel (Eye tiredness)

Hello Guys!

 

I am interested about the physiological effects of the different panel types.

 

I used an LG E2242 monitor for about 4 years (21.5" TN 1920x1080 5ms). Few weeks ago I bought my 2nd monitor which is the Acer G247HYL (23.8" IPS 1920x1080 4ms).

 

With the old monitor I could play hours with no problem, but now with the new IPS monitor it is really tiring to do the same. After a few hours of watching the monitor my eyes are tired and I feel pain in them. It is hard to focus with them too.

 

My question is that what are the functional differences in the 2 panel types?

I think IPS screens are designed to focus on your eyes, I prefer TN panels either way, because I simply have no need for IPS.

Well, in either case I recommend you downlaod Flux, it helps out your eyes heaps by eliminating blue light output from your monitors; which can cause eye irritaion when looked at for long periods of time.

I'm not an expert but, did you try to sit a little further to the back.

Thanks for the advices!!

My eyes are ~60cm far from the monitor and if I put it further the screen is so small.
