Alright, so my brother's pentium is currently at 4.5 GHZ at 60°C. We are trying to reach 4.7GHZ or maybe higher but the system won't boot past 4.6GHZ and windows keep giving us errors every time we try to boot. Can someone give me recommenced settings to put into the BIOS? I can't find some settings that work online atm.

Im using a MSI Gaming Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard

This maybe the bottle neck: a CX600 power supply.

My cooler is a Cryorig H7 (212 Evo about).

Maybe CPU just can't handle higher OC?

Base clock is 3,2GHz, so you already went 1,3GHz higher on it xD

Intel i7 12700K | Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 | Pure Loop 240mm | G.Skill 3200MHz 32GB CL14 | CM V850 G2 | RTX 3070 Phoenix | Lian Li O11 Air mini

Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 140mm fans

WD My Cloud 4TB

on a h105, i went 5.2GHz 1.51v (M7Hero) with 80° (1300rpm hyperborea fans) on p95 custom test (min=1344 in-place) for 30min.

overclock (331) only raised cb score 90pts above stock (240). so other than GHz braggin' there isn't much there to make it 'perform' better.

When I did it with a .5, the system didn't post, but ill try those settings now.

Yea. It may not post as you are increasing clock of everyhing not just CPU so stability may go to hell.

BTW my math was really bad... 0.5 increase

100.5x45 = 4522MHz

100.5x44 = 4422MHz

So you need 46 multiplier and maybe just 0.3 increase on bclk.

When I change the BCLK at all, the system doesn't post...
