Graphics card UK pricing?

I am looking to buy a new graphics card and my budget is roughly around the £250 mark. I have a 1080p 144hz monitor. I did some research and found these prices for graphics card:

 

Rx 480 4gb model= £180 8gb model= £220

Gtx 970= £200 

Gtx 980= £300

R9 390x= £270

R9 390= £220

Gtx 1060= £300 

 

These are the prices roughly in the UK for these graphics cards. These prices are taken from google, ebuyer, amazon, ebay, scan computers for new products. The gtx 970, r9 390 and the x as well as the gtx 980 these prices are taken from ebay only as used products. The gtx 1060 is on par with the 970 and the rx 480 however the gtx 980 and the r9 390x out performs both. I was originally gonna purchase a 1070 but thats like over £400 for a decent one. I don't expect the 1070 price to be dropping anytime soon. I think the price of the 1070 is gonna go up in the christmas period. I have a i5 4460 as my cpu btw. 

 

I'm confused on what to do.

Looking at the r9 2XX series and the 7XX series he is right tho.

AMD cards in general age better than nvidia cards.
