5820K or 6700k? x99 v z170

What were the clocks on both of them

no was would it beat the 6700k at 4.8ghz

and the 6800k wouldn't clock that high

In this video it was:
6700k @ 4.7Ghz
6800k @ 4.5Ghz

Pardon me, the 6700k was faster by a score of 1000 in single core score, got confused with another comparison.
Non the less the 6800k didn't do to bad all things considered imo.
Heres the video!

Why should you buy a 6700K instead of a 6800K... It is WORSE.. Games will not continue to be "quad cores for life"... A prime example is Battlefield 4 which utilises ALL the cores of the 6800K... I don't see a point in buying the 6700K and then upgrading in a couple of years because you will need more performance... 6 cores are ALWAYS better than 4, I don't care what you say...

Heck, even if no game that someone plays can utilise 6 cores and 12 threads, the 6800K still has more headroom to be running a screen recording software, an antivirus and whatever else you want... Has anyone watched this video???

The quad core does offer similar performance to the six core but stutters more...

I really don't see any reason for 6700K to be slow at rendering, ok, it will be slower than 5820K and stronger(more expensive) X99 CPU's

The 6800K/5820K cost just as much as the 6700K... An X99 Motherboard is what costs more than a Z170 one...

oc further and more easily

Not really...... Because:

-The 5820K can USUALLY achieve clocks 900MHz faster than its Turbo Boost Speed

-The 6700K can USUALLY achieve clocks 600MHz faster than its Turbo Boost Speed

-The 6800K can USUALLY achieve clocks 700MHz faster than its Turbo Boost speeds

5820K:

Turbo Boost Speed: 3.6GHz

Common OC: 4.5GHz

6700K:

Turbo Boost Speed: 4.2GHz

Common OC: 4.8GHz

6800K:

Turbo Boost Speed: 3.6GHz

Common OC: 4.3GHz

If something is wrong, please correct me...

(I am well aware that 4.8 is higher than 4.5-4.6 but my point is that there isn't more headroom...)

Either way... @TheProphetGaming, I would advise you to buy a 6800K/5820K if you have the money to do so... If you don't, you can buy the 6700K which will still offer good performance... It is worth mentioning though that an enthusiast grade CPU will ALWAYS last longer than a mainstream one...

Oh come on! My ancient i5 3570K is still doing great after 4 years. Skylake i7 will last him at least 4 years without breaking a sweat :) Either option is great to be honest but one must consider that you must have your 5820K Oc'ed to 4.6GHz to achieve similar performance like 6700K and that results with higher heat output and needs better cooling and more noise overall... And for games, that all of the will utilize more that 4 cores, I can't recall that anyone ever said that...

But ok, whatever you choose it will be great and it will last ages. I will upgrade my system soon and most probably it will be 6700K but if I get more work to do from my house then I will go 5820K or 6800K...

It should last him but I am worried because games are starting to utilise more cores... As for performance, if you run games at 4K with a GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070 you will not notice any difference... If you are into high refresh rate gaming then the 6700K might be the way to go... But I will always say "get the best of what you can afford" and by all means the 6800K is better(if it fits your budget)...
