Push vs Pull VRM cooling

So I have a MSI 970 GAMING Motherboard that gets very hot while overclocking.  Will I achieve better thermal dissipation if I use stock fans pushing air onto the board then I would pull?

I'd advise getting new, more powerful fans pull vs push won't make a difference but more RPM will.

I would be all over those but noise levels is also a thing as well as what I have now is free. I plan on using 2 fans on my VRM and 1 on my north bridge

ok but bare in mind noctuas have anti-vibration corner thingys that GREATLY reduce vibration which is the primary cause of noise

I'm not really sure.

 

When you push air, you accelerate it very conically towards something.

When you pull air, you draw it from a broad area.

 

So pushing air results in higher air velocity, and pulling results in better flow.

 

In this scenario, it would probably be best to push air towards the heatsinks rather than attempting to rig a fan to pull air through the heatsinks.

Doubt that will do anything, seeing as the fans will be zip-tied to my cooler
