ESD safe way to clean cpu

DeadlyPilot

I need to clean my CPU. Wouldn't a coffee filter cause static? What can I use that won't damage my CPU?

And don't just say "I've been working on  PC's for years and have never damaged anything", because we all know that's BS and you don't know that. Thanks!

Coffee filter is fine, just make sure you ground your self before you start working (with the coffee filter in your hand if you are concerned)

I've been working on this PC for 2~ years now, I never ground myself when working with components. People really need to stop being paranoid about it...

So you want opinions rather than years of experience? Do you think someone here is going to know better than all the experts (Linus, Jayz, Salazar Studio, Brian "TechCity", Barnacules) and countless others?
