good cpu fan/cooler?

hey guys very new here, not sure of the ins and outs.

Could anybody tell me what type of CPU cooler would be best for me?

i am running an amd phenom II X4 955 3.2 ghz and the fan it came with is starting to get really noisy.

i've just started pc gaming and im looking around trying to do some research but would appreciate if anyone could help me out. Point me in the right direction

If you want to be pointed in the right direction, most stuff from noctua is good

Are you overclocking? If not, there are plenty of $10-15 heatsinks that will work just fine. Click on the Ikaros link in my signature for an idea of what I'm talking about.

If you are overclocking, this becomes a more complicated question. I don't know old-school AMD processors well enough to know if you can OC that one.

H7 is sexier and quieter, but if there's a big price difference, a 212 is plenty.
