6700k vs 4770k

Between the two CPUs, I'd get the 6700K (assuming you have a Z170 motherboard). You get DDR4 support and a higher stock frequency. Otherwise, with gaming, the 4770K is well more than enough to meet the demands of today's games.

Without any other information I'd say the 4770k (ideally 4790k) is enough for gaming, you won't notice any difference with a 6700k. However, you might see some increased performance when it comes to programming, video editing/encoding etc... with the 6700k. It won't be much more than 10% increase though. If you can get all of them for roughly the same price, go for the 6700k. New is always better

Assuming that you don't have any other hardware for your P build, I would go for i7 6700k.

I don't know why anyone would choose older/slower CPU for same price, for new build.

 

So yeah i7 6700k is better. get that one!

yep, i would definitely go for the 6700K! just because you get DDR4 support and all that fancy stuff.

I had to choose between these 2 some months ago when i started building my new pc, i didnt have any parts so i aimed for the i7 6700k because they have the same price and it supports ddr4 with all of its benefits and so far i am not dissapointed by this desicion, on top of that the 6700k has lower heat output and better performance, but in the end its all up to you.

Well I upgraded to i7 4790 7 months ago.

I'm still say that I didn't go for K version at least.

Also wondering why I didn't buy i7 6700k ...

 

Lets just say that I was pretty dumb back then.

 

So OP: don't do same mistake as I did! Buy the newest one!
