My motherboard only has the power switch, reset switch, and HDD LED pins plugged in, nothing else. I would imagine you have a defective unit.

Im saying that I have the other too in fine but the pwr_led on the mobo is a       4-1 pin connector

Uhmmm, you should.  It is a standard SATA power connection.  Each PSU should have multiple connectors for this type of power.

That looks like a 4-pin socket for a fan connection.
