Phanteks P400 Help

I just started using the phanteks p400 with my new build and I've seen other people with the rgb lighting on the bottom, and on the power button but I can't figure out why the button on the case isn't turning them on. I've checked inside to see if they were powered.

Have you tried holding down the button for several seconds? I saw it mentioned by Dimitry from Hardwarecanucks in their review of the case.

I think it is a power issue, pressing and holding is the way to turn them on, just isn't working for me

Is the power button powered properly?  Are all the connectors on the right motherboard pins?

 

I don't think it is RGB, just like 7-8 different colours.

the power button works perfectly and so does the reset button right next to the led button, ill check the pins

There should be wires to the same area of motherboard for the LED light, make sure you have those in the right spot as well.

There is a "PLED" label, is that it?

Yes.  If that is connected, the light should work.

 

If not working, contact Phanteks.

The plus says HD. D LED and there are two pins labeled HD

Those are activity lights, to signal the hard drive is being accessed.  That is something different.

 

HD is sound.

@daviden  How do you like the case?  Other than the lights not working, that is.

It's great, it looks really nice and because of the hidden HD and PSU it's really clean, I also really want to install the inside RGB lighting, if i get rgb lighting to work right anyways

Hmm well I just found out that I have a PWR_LED plug but its a 3 pin connector ?????

I have no idea what that is.  Chances are, you are just missing something small.  Most people go through something like this and I am no exception.  Keep at it and don't be afraid to contact Phanteks if you are sure something is not working.

Yeah.... Page 9 of the manual shows a 12v SATA power connection is needed.  So, I am assuming a SATA power line is needed from the power supply.

The LED controller is independent of the motherboard, so long as SATA power is plugged in and being fed power, it should theoretically be running.

 

My motherboard only has the power switch, reset switch, and HDD LED pins plugged in, nothing else. I would imagine you have a defective unit.

Nvm I though I had a PSU cable for it
