  1. This is all that is in the start.sh https://pastebin.com/TP1bG7QM The error occurs when I press "y" to accept and it gives me the error I posted above
  2. Everything worked except the last command gave me: Unable to access jarfile path/server.jar
  3. I think I need oracle java for forge since its modded MC
  4. This is probably a stupid question, but which file do I download? I think this is the part I'm messing up.
  5. I'll look into that, but here is the error log I got: A problem occurred running the Server launcher.java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at java.base/jdk.internal.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at java.base/jdk.internal.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:64) at java.base/jdk.internal.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.base/java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:564) at net.minecraftforge.fml.relauncher.ServerLaunchWrapper.run(
  6. I'm brand new to Linux and am trying to download a FTB (Minecraft) server so I can transfer the world from my main rig to a little server computer. I keep running into the issue that the start.sh file errors out because of an incorrect java version (at least that's what I'm under the impression is the problem). I found out that I need to have Java 8 apparently. When I was looking online for how to install the latest Oracle Java (which was a mistake) it said to use the .deb version. I cannot, however, find one of these for Java 8. There are only .rpm and .tar.gz. If anyone has done
  7. Alright the crash just happened again. The dump location is marked at %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP. Although I should note that I never got to a blue screen or anything of the like even though I disabled the automatic restart, I have a several-year-old 650W psu with some not-exactly-efficient hardware, so power failure is definitely on the radar.
  8. Ok, I think I enabled crash dumps, but I'll double check. Also, no I'm not using XMP and I haven't oc'd
  9. I've recently been hosting a modded Minecraft server for myself and some of my friends. The majority of the time there are no issues. However, every once in a while my system will spontaneously crash without so much as a clue of when or why (at least on the surface). This crash comes in the form of everything acting normally until my system just randomly decides to reboot itself, that's it. There are no other apparent hints. This has only happened when I am playing on the server, and more often when there are several people on. Last night it happened twice in relatively quick succession when t
  10. oh, ok thanks! I'm new to server stuff so I appreciate the tip!
  11. 5-6 friends max, was planning on putting more than that in. probably 16 total just to have lots of headroom.

  13. I'm looking into getting a Dac/Amp stack and want to try out fibre optic. Is this SPDIF out what I'm looking for to get the sound from my system to the dac? https://www.newegg.com/msi-mag-b550-tomahawk/p/N82E16813144326?Item=N82E16813144326
