I want to try to keep it quiet (hence the define r4) and under $2500. As of right now this is about $2000 and the R9 920X is expected to be about $500. What would you change? (NO 7000 SERIES CARDS! I HAVE HAD 5 7870'S AND THEY ALL FAILED). USA currency

Yep. I tried different brands each time, in hopes that one would be good. I finally gave up.

Imagine, if you had gave up on the 7870 after the first time you could have bought a 7990 for what you spent on 4 more 7870's.

if you mean the R9 290X its rumoured to be $600-700+ according to leaks.

I would pay that. I am really exited for the card.

Here is my build.

And get the R9-290x.

The H100i can be placed in the R4.

Went aswell for a red/black theme. You can go and get the i7, but for gaming it does barely anything. Here is the tought process why I picked the parts.

Mobo: Great onboard sound. I trust Asus with my life. Good OC'er. And it looks sexy.

RAM: I got you 16GB 1866-CL9 ram, wich in tests comes out to be the best for gaming, but only a small margin. But for the price and looks, I suggest these. For gaming 8GB is actually more then enough, but well now you are future proof.

PSU: I got you a platinium Seasonic one. There is a deal on them right now. Absolutely amazing for the price. Fully modulair.

Storage: 2 TB seagate, if you want silence. those are perfect. And managed to fit in a 250GB SSD, EVO series are great. You can just get the 128GB one if you want to get abit cheaper price.

GPU: So far so good, the R9-290x price won't be insane and the performance should be pretty kicking balls around.

Case fans: These are kick ass, they work fine on the H100i aswell. Silent! And red leds, win-win.

Sound: If you really want those headphones that you first selected, then by all means, but I absolutely have to argue against it with those ATH-M50. If you have the chance to go somewhere and test them out, please do. You will be blown away.

Keyboard: I would suggest to have a look at other brands, I just don't like razer keyboards - I had alot off friends where they just simply broke. And the green doesn't go to well with the red theme I got going on. I really like this on personally, they have other options if you want macro keys and what not. But Linus unboxxed this one aswell.

NZXT Phantom windowed, Asus Z77 Sabertooth, Intel 2600K, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA 780 Classified, Crucial Ballistic Tactical, Crucial M4 128GB + Samsung 850 EVO, Corsair RM850, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Peripherals: Sennheiser HD598, FinalMouse Classic, SteelSeries Qck Heavy, Ducky Shine Zero (MX Brown), AOC G2460PF & Qnix QX2710

The Corsair Hydro series has loud stock fans.

Plan later AFTER the new AMD cards come out.
