Best headphones for home use only?

Drkrinklez

I'm looking for some audiophile grade headphones for my home speaker set up, but I dont want to break the bank. I'm looking for some 50 dollar USD headphones, including tax and shipping... I'm listening to classic rock on CD's and soon on vinyl. I have everything else but the headphones... Thanks!

Do you live in the United States?

I'm dumb. I recommend the Superlux 681 Evo (these have a V-Curve, and the mids aren't too great) or Sennheiser HD 419 maybe.

I should have realized you typing USD meant that. Sorry. I edited my post.

Creative Aurvana live 1 or some Superlux 668b or Monoprice 8323. Only issue is the 668b's are very bright, piercing highs so that is a con for some people. As well as the Superlux headphones are semi-open so sound does leak, which for me is a problem. People around you will be able to hear your music. But that is not the case with the others. If you do choose the 668b's get the velour pads it comes with it.

"Audiophile Grade" and $50 are a bit at odds.

I'd aim for the Philips SHP9500. $75. If that is just too much of a bank-breaker, you may be able to find the Grado SR60i for a bit cheaper. That headphone ought to do nicely with classic rock.
