My topic - if you still want to read:

Spoiler

Original Article: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nvidia-vive-displayport-incompatible,news-53397.html

The article I found out from: http://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu_displays/the_display_ports_on_nvidia_gtx_1080_70_don_t_work_with_htc_vive/1

Turns out that users of the HTC Vive who have just upgraded or bought a new GTX 1080/1070 are reporting issues that the headset does not work

with the new Nvidia Pascal graphics cards when used over DisplayPort. Which is weird, since

there was no issue with this on the previous GTX 9xx series.

Sure, these cards have the new HDMI 2.0B standard, but a lot of people are using this for existing displays, making it a non-vive-able (crap pun intended)

solution.

NVidia were informed about this over a month ago and have so far not released a statement except for, they

"are still investigating this issue".

If you attempt to connect it at the present time, you will get a "HMD not found error"

My thoughts:

If NVidia have known about this issue for this long and have not done anything yet,

it doesn't look too good - considering this worked fine on the previous GTX 9xx series.

I don't want a war between HTC Vive vs Rift, so please don't put those comments.

I countered a guy on Newegg saying that he could not use the HTC Vive with his new MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X. I thought only that card has this particular problem until seeing this post. Thanks for the verification!
