Posted July 6, 2016 I'm looking for a free antivirus software. Which is the best one for a cheap/slow computer? Should I use it along with MalwareBytes? Thanks, I'd appreciate the help. Posted July 6, 2016 I'd just use malwarebytes to get rid of the odd bit of malware that creeps in, but the best anti-virus is your noggin. Do you really have a cousin from Zimbabwe who is some rich prince? And have you really just won a Galaxy S7 by not entering any competition you can remember? And do you really believe someone can make big $$$ by sitting on their ass all day by using some program they tell you to download?
 Posted July 6, 2016 Windows Defender and then system scans with Malwarebytes is what I use. I find it's the most effective, while being the least intrusive and problematic.
Posted July 6, 2016 I used to always recommend AVG. Lately the amount of advertising trying to suck me into stuff I don't want has pushed me over the edge. Unless you're ok with having more than just a simple antivirus or being notified at least weekly to get more than you have because 'special offer' or even because 'free', don't bother with it. There's something cool here - you just can't see it.
Posted July 6, 2016 AVG or Avast or Windows Defender tbh Complement it with Malwarebytes and an ad blocker and you're safe. If you care more about privacy and security, look at Ghostery and Noscript (firefox addons). We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now.
