My iPhone 5 has water damage, should I get it repaired? or buy a different phone, like the 6s or a Samsung?

i'd get a different phone. the 5 is technically 4 generations old at this point, though its still capable of ios 10. but i'd still get something like a 6s or a samsung, preferrably the galaxy s7

Id get a new phone, 

 

depends if you prefer iOS or Android


The 7 will be out in a couple months if you can wait

I would wait for the 7 and buy a 6s. The 7 looks like a total flop. No head phone jack and the same design as the 6s.

I'd wait for the iPhone 7 to drop. Even if it turns out to be less than stellar or just too expensive for you, it'll drop the prices of the 6S (which you should definitely get over the regular 6) or you could get the SE if you prefer the smaller form factor.

well I know but id rather put money into Microsoft then give more to Apple....neither deserve it when it comes to mobile devices but apple doesn't deserve it period.

Calculate for yourself:

- How much does the Repair cost?

- How much could you sell it for AFTER the repair.

 

If the phone (not damaged) would be worth 150 bucks, but repair costs 200.. then no, don't do it.
