2560x1080 - Intel HD Graphics 5500

MayorPotatoSalad

Trying to run my 2560x1080 desktop monitor off of my XPS 13 (i5-5200U), and despite the integrated GPU theoretically working up to 3840x2160, in the "Intel HD Graphics Control Panel" I only get the option to go as high as 1080p. Is this a driver issue or is there some quirk that I am not aware of?

When trying to set a custom resolution I get the warning "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.". Could it be because I am running a Mini DP to HDMI adapter?

Intel HD Graphics IGPU'S suck just get a cheap 7870,7970 if you want that resolution to show and these cards would destroy the IGPU

Then nothing either replace the hole motherboard if possible but that would cost you $$$ and it would have allot issues

Very weird. Even my old thinkpad with an Ivy Bridge i5 can display that.

1) Update drivers

2) If that doesnt work, reinstall the drivers completely.

3) look around in the driver menu, there might be an option for a custom resolution. There you might be able to set the res with a lower refreh rate, that should bring the bandwidth requirement down and allow you to display the res.

4) Does your monitor have dp as well? try connecting mini-dp to dp, maybe the adapter is faulty.
