Backing up Windows updates

Go to solution Solved by 2FA,

If you go here in Internet Exploerer, it has all Windows Updates up through April 2016 as a single download that you can store.

As a few of you may have experienced, trying to get Windows 7 updated is becoming a huge PITA, and the other day my dad's PC FINALLY managed to update. Seeing as my "school" PC is completely out of date, is it possible for him to package his updates so that I can install them? Because I don't want to wait for hours on end just CHECKING for updates.

There is a specific update KB3135445 that affects the way windows 7 updates without it windows 7 has trouble updating some time after the service pack update making it take a long time checking, but you can keep the installers for the updates though order often matters for them so you'd have to make sure they were separated in to packs so you didn't try to update out of order by accident.

That is Microsoft for you. Why give a nice download link on the page like all other updates and software from the company, when you can use Windows XP legacy IE specific pages to download this Windows 7 update. I mean, isn't it obvious? That poor Windows XP update system.. all alone these days....

Well you can download it through the download center but this is a direct link to the package which I find to be easier.

because I built this :

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/533392-build-log-the-scrap-simulator-x/?p=7078757

and its the most unstable thing ever

the drivers that I have make it work on one version of windows

if it updates, its dead. and I will have to spend another 5h with the nvidia tech support to find one that works.
and it will affect performance.

Windows 7 update service is kinda broken for more then 6 months allready.

And MS doesnt do a single shit to fix it.

There are allready having been reported issues since June last year.

And searching for updates still takes forever till the date of today.

currently svchost is hogging 12% cpu and 1.6GB to 1.9GB of ram for over 8 hours doing nothing, every god damm single day.

Its held hostage by the service wauserv which is the windows update service.

RIP

On the plus side, I installed 4 rollups/hotfixes and now Windows is actually updating (just without all of the Windows 10 BS because I blocked those lmao)
