Will a RM850 do for this build?

I already have the 850

I was planning on having the gpu's on the preset 'OC' mode, but no more then that. and the cpu I wanted to try to push to around 4.5ghz. With a pump+res combo with 600mm worth of rad space

Just check how much "OC" mode uses wattage if its less than 200w you would be on a tight budget with power but it will do,hope this helps

I am planning a build with 4x4 3200 dominator, 5820k, 2x MSI 1080 gaming x's, and eventually a custom loop with a good overclock on the cpu. I already have a rm850 from my current build, trying to figure out if it is enough, or would it be safer to go ahead and get a 1000w

It wont be enough just a i7 5820K with 2x 1080'S wastes 500W now when we count HDD,SSD,Ram it would be 650-700w and if you want to overclock theres not enough room for it

When life gives you drugs you sell them for a living.

Itll pass,i mean you have 250W of extra room but if you wanna overclock the GPU'S your gonna need a 1200W

yeah it'll be fine. Although you might as well get the 1000w model instead as it isn't much more expensive.

I already have the 850

It would be totally fine to get an 850W, unit. Hell, even a 650W unit would be fine, however you should probably skip the Corsair RM and get the RMi or X since they're substantially better for the money.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I already have the rm850. If i buy a psu, I'm going to get higher wattage then that. I was trying to see if it would be a good idea to get something with more power. and the rm 850 is fully modular and gold+ with 0rpm mode

Ah, well if you own the RM850 already then don't bother replacing it.
