So I sold an Oculus Rift DK2 on eBay for $500 but the buyer hasn't payed yet. I don't know if this is my fault or not, yesterday I noticed a send invoice button and I clicked it but I didn't add any other info, was I supposed to put in a PayPal for them to pay? I already put in the paypal info when I created the listing. I want this paid fast so I can buy my 980Ti! (used)

I don't know how eBay's payment system works.

I can't buy a 980ti with $200 now can I?

That wasn't my point. If you're 13 you should have had your parents sell it for you. If you already shipped it I bet you just got screwed.

Um... I could be wrong, but I don't think you can legally sell something on ebay if you are only 13. As for your question, you will receive a notification when the buyer has paid, and I don't think you can even print the shipping label until they have paid, and I wouldn't anyway. If you haven't received payment within a week I would send a reminder to the buyer. This is all, of course, assuming you can legally sell stuff on ebay at your age. I'm pretty sure your parents have to do it for you.

Whatever you do, do not ship the item to the buyer until you have confirmed that you have received payment.

There is a claims system but don't hope on getting anything considering you have to provide proof on shipping (which you probably don't have) and you have to provide verification of being 18, which you can't.

I did have my parents sell it for me, do you think I have a PayPal account?

Edit: No I haven't shipped it yet.

13 is not a legal age, and even with paypal you won't get the money right away.  You have to wait like up to a month or at least a few weeks before you get the money.  On top of that a portion of it goes to eBay and Paypal fees.  You really should be working with your parents on this.

I don't know, that's why I mentioned it. It is not at all uncommon for people (or kids) to lie about their age online so that they can do things that they legally aren't allowed to. If you already shipped it out and have not received payment, then I would suggest you have your parents file a claim with ebay to get the payment from the buyer or the item returned to you.

You shouldn't be dealing with it at all, you should've given them the information and let them deal with it, not try to sell on a site you have no idea how to properly use. When setting up a sale, you will link a Paypal account, when the buyer pays, they will send through paypal, the money is then verified, you can print a shipping label and ship the item to them.

Uhm... Don't get pissy at him just because you haven't clearly stated what the problem is. You said you don't understand eBay's payments system, and he just explained it to you. Take a chill pill.

You clearly did not need to state your age as we can already see you are not mature enough to even accept the help you are asking for.

Well, he does have a point. Technically, his parents should have done the entire process of listing the item on ebay.

Ok, let me rephrase this: My parents did everything except the posting which I did to fill out all the information, they did all the paypal stuff, they told me to do everything I did and basically none of it (except for filling out the info) was me. I just want to know why I haven't been paid yet.

Because 1) They have a period in which they have time to pay, Ebay isn't made for instant selling of items. 2) The money takes a while to confirm VIA paypal, the larger the sum of money, the longer the time it takes to verify.

Meh, who hasn't done that, Paypal has actual verification to ensure the user is 18, unless of course, someone uses their parents.
